What’s Coming Up-Week of February 13

Miscellaneous:

  • Parent/Teacher conference slips will be coming home on Monday.  Please check the date and time to make sure that it fits well with your schedule.
  • Our 5th-grade symphony trip is February 21st. We are able to take a couple parents as chaperones for this annual trip. If you have an interest in joining us, email your classroom teacher.

  • Students are reading historical fiction novels and writing their own historical fiction stories.

Miscellaneous

  • Rather than having traditional classroom parties, the fifth-grade teachers have planned an activity for the entire fifth grade on the afternoon of Friday, Feb. 10.
  • Individual classes will hold Valentine exchanges within their classrooms. If your child wishes to bring Valentine’s cards, please make sure that they have one for each student in our class. Here is a Class Valentine List.
  • We are using SignUp to coordinate snack donations. Click here to view the sign-up. If students wish to have a drink, they may bring their own. Please remember that we are a pop free school.
  • Information regarding chaperones for fifth-grade camp should come home today. Please note that those interested in chaperoning should return the bottom portion of the form by Friday, Feb. 10.

What’s Coming Up-Week of January 9

Miscellaneous:

  • Early dismissal on Friday, January 13.
  • Fifth graders have begun the T.E.A.M. program. T.E.A.M. stands for teaching, mentoring and educating, and it is school liaison program led by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. We are excited to have Deputy Eric Smith as our T.E.A.M. instructor this year.
  • Please try to bring your child to the public library to find a book or periodical containing information on their chosen research topic.

What’s Coming Up- Week of December 12th

I hope you all enjoyed your snow day today! The update for this week is short, but it contains important information about holiday activities at GES.

  • GES Holiday Program is Tuesday, Dec. 13! Mrs. Bretz and the students have been busy preparing a wonderful program for you to enjoy. Information about when and where students should report can be found on Mrs. Bretz’s blog.
  • We are still in need of donated items and another cook for our Holiday Breakfast. Here is a link to sign up to contribute to our breakfast.  HOLIDAY BREAKFAST
