What’s Coming Up – Week of March

Miscellaneous:

  • Monday, March 7 is a records day for teachers; there will be no school for students that day.
  • Parent-Teacher conferences will be held March 7 – 9. We are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress.
  • Fifth graders will be visiting Baldwin Street Middle School on Thursday, March 10. Watch for a letter to come home today outlining our schedule while visiting.
  • Please make sure your child is practicing math facts at home using Mobymax five minutes each day.
  • The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Georgetown. Information was sent home about the All for Books competition. I encourage you to participate in this worthy cause. It allows our PTC to purchase books for or classroom libraries here at Georgetown Elementary, and Scholastic matches each dollar donated to purchase books for underprivileged kids.

Update/Donations/Camp Meeting

Donations please!  Allergy season is in full force and we have a lot of itchy Boy_Sneezing_on_a_Handkerchief_Royalty_Free_Clipart_Picture_090530-024571-206053eyes, and runny noses.  If you could spare a box of tissue to send in to share with the class it would be greatly appreciated.  We are completely out of tissues and clorox wipes for the year.

Homework:
Math: Lesson 3-10, Homework: All
Check to see if your child has completed their homework assignment in math today.
Social Studies: Next week Wednesday students will be taking a 13 colonies quiz where they need to know the names and locations of all 13 colonies.  They also need to know where the boundary is between the New England Colonies and Middle Colonies, and the boundary between the Middle Colonies and Southern Colonies.   The website below is a great study tool to help students learn the locations of each one.  Happy studying!!
