P.E. Cares-Food Drive

Below is a message from our P.E. teachers, Mrs. Nienhuis and Mrs. VanKoevering.

“The annual P.E. C.A.R.E.S food drive will be starting on November 6.  We are asking for your help by bringing in non-perishable food items for Love Inc. in Hudsonville.  Food items to consider are:
  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruits
  • pasta
  • rice
  • baked beans
  • black beans
  • kidney beans
  • peanut butter
  • tuna fish, etc.
 (please no ramen noodles)
We will be keeping track of how many items each class brings in for the food drive.

The class with the most items at the end of the day on Thursday, November 21 will win a bowling trip to Hudsonville Lanes and a P.E. C.A.R.E.S t-shirt.

This is a great opportunity for our students to care for their community, thanks for sharing in this service project with us at Georgetown.

PE Cares!

Yes..we did win the PE  C.A.R.E.s competition!  I literally walked to the back of the room to protect my ears when the office staff came over the P.A. system to announce the winner.  I knew the kids were excited, but “Oh MY!” they rocked the rafters with their cheers!  It was so much fun to see their faces and excitement!

More importantly you and your children reached out and gave to those in our community who are in need!  Thank you so much for supporting this great cause!

The kids are anxious to know when we will be going bowling, and as soon as the PE teachers and I work out the details,  I will let the class know when we can expect to enjoy our excursion.
