Pssst!

snowballI hope everyone is warm and snug and enjoying their snow day!

Okay kiddos, I promised you a way to keep busy and your brains working.

Write a constructed response using the RACES format. Type it out on a Google Document and share it with me!

Prompt: Explain what you did on your snow day using at least two details explaining how it made your day fun.

Classroom Auction!

auctionWe are going to have our class auction this Thursday before our last day of school.  To have a successful auction I need your support.
Please take the time this weekend and have your kids clean out those closets. Any past treasure they would like to part with to donate to our class auction will be greatly appreciated. REMEMBER, one persons trash is another persons TREASURE!! Send in their donation/s anytime this week before Thursday so the kids can see what their hard in $ can purchase.

Update 9/11

HOMEWORK:
  • Today is the second day of kicking off our weekly reading!  I  was so happy to see so many parent initials in their kid’s reading logs!  I LOVE giving Smile Bucks away.  So for tonight I thought I’d try a little something different.  At the bottom of this post is a place where you can leave a comment.  If you look at the very bottom on the left hand side of the post there is a tiny place that says, “no comment.”  If you click on that link it will open a window for you to fill out to leave a comment.  Don’t worry if you don’t see it, I have to approve all comments before they are published.  If I get a comment from either a parent or student that says that they remembered to do their daily reading I will reward the student with  Smile Buck!!  I’m hoping to get 100% participation.  🙂
  • In writing today we set a goal of how many entries we should have in our writing journals by the end of the day.  We all agreed that we should have a total of 3 entries.  Entries are “snapshots” of a story.  They are a rough draft snapshot that the kids should be working on independently and not editing.  Some students have writing homework tonight to reach the 3 entry goal.
